Unavailable After Meta Tag
Occasionally we get organizations that need to let the world know that they have something to offer for a short period of time. Shoobox Kennel in Alpine, CA. calls on us once in a while when they are under the gun to let the world know that they have a litter of puppies on the way. In the past we have promoted their new arrivals with pay per click marketing
Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing is very flexible and it has been one of our best online marketing tools for marketing projects that are going on for a short period of time. With PPC marketing we could easily stop promoting once each of their pups has a new home.
Now Google has added a new Meta Tag to stop Google from checking a webpage after a specific length of time.
It is very easy to use this new Meta Tag.
Example of unavailable after Meta Tag:
To stop Google from indexing a particular webpage after 6pm in Chicago on September twenty first the following line of code needs to be added to the <HEADER> of the HTML page.
<META NAME=”GOOGLEBOT” CONTENT=”unavailable_after: 21-Sep-2007 18:00:00 CST”>
That’s it, rather simple.
* Note: Even after the page is removed from Google’s search results the page will still remain in Google’s system. This is a nice thing for Shoobox Kennel, since it will continue to build their name as an authority in Entlebucher Mountain Dogs on the Internet.
